this horoscope below is particularly scary for me… so much health-related things… also, i am listening to this song on repeat — the first song i’ve wanted to listen to on repeat for quite a while now. i am reminded of my previous shame in having weird fucking symptoms that scared the shit out of me, going to multiple doctors, and having them find nothing. i am reminded of how embarrassed i felt for nothing turning up in an mri — but i didn’t even get a chance to see it and the dude was convinced it was a catscan (didn’t show me, again) even though i KNEW i had gotten an mri. but i assumed i was wrong. and while i knew i wanted to get a copy for myself, i never got it; again, with the shame, of feeling vulnerable and having people not care… to brush health and certainty under the rug because of self-consciousness.

i realized yesterday when i went into that job interview that i have grown a lot as a person, if only in that i no longer have doubts about myself when engaged in a job interview type setting. flaws are no longer important, no longer so pronounced; any reasons for not hiring me are probably due to personality and style more than actual disqualification. so it is with this health thing… i think i am worried about it enough that i need to just make whatever i want to see happen happen, for i feel so unsettled without knowing. i told troy that i didn’t want to see a doctor about an mri because i didn’t want anyone to convince me otherwise about it. the only problem is that i HAVE to see a doctor to get an mri, and they have to approve. going to call my other doctor tomorrow and hope that she will refer me. i don’t know. blahrg. it is incredibly frustrating.

This month might bring some of your best news you’ve heard in a very long time! May has many lyrical elements to it, and among all the aspects, your very best include what I call the luckiest day of the year! This year, your luckiest day will actually occur over two days, May 12-13, and remarkably, those days fall over a weekend. These days deserve your attention because Jupiter, your guardian planet (“ruler), will meet with the mighty Sun. This will be exciting for everyone, of every sign, for completely different reasons, but the fact that your ruler, Jupiter, is involved in this configuration means you may enjoy the goodies the universe is sending us more than most.

On May 12 and 13, your luckiest days, Jupiter and the Sun will meet in your solar sixth house of work, health, and well-being. These areas of your life will feel a lively up-tick and bring good news, so let’s look closely.

First, think about ways to improve your health. In the most extreme case, if you have been troubled by a health issue and hope to find a diagnosis from a specialist, you would be wise to search for that doctor immediately. Ask friends and colleagues for names, and check each doctor out as thoroughly as you can. Sometimes when we face a health challenge we need more than one or two opinions – go for those now. Sometimes it is worth going for another opinion even if you are completely happy with your doctor. With each consultation, you will gather additional useful tidbits about your condition that you had not been given before.

Make your most vital appointment for May 9, 10, or 11, with May 11 your very best. (May 12-13 are weekend dates, but the days leading up to the weekend will be strong, too.) If you have special tests to be done, do them during the first two weeks of May. If you have an operation, schedule it as close to May 11 as you can, as Jupiter will be very close to the Sun, and both are known to be the great healers.

What if you feel basically good but had hoped to hit the gym regularly to get back in shape? Join a gym at any time during the first half of May. If you already are a member of a gym, learn a new sport, start with a trainer, or start attending group fitness classes in the first week of May. I say this because the new moon of April 21 will still be working hard for you in the first week of May, and it will help you see solid results. (You can read last month’s forecast, always, by looking below the Summary and the Dates to Note – you will see the link to April’s forecast.)

Here is a vital piece of information: I have found in my own research with charts of thousands of people that when it comes to losing weight, having Jupiter in the sixth house, where Jupiter is visiting now, is excellent. I thought I would find the opposite results (Jupiter is associated with fine living and rich food), but what I discovered is that Jupiter, the great healer, will redo your routine and help you discover healthy foods that you will enjoy and look forward to eating. Jupiter is about to leave your sixth house on June 11, not to return for twelve years. As with any benefic planet, it is when you begin that matters, and you just had that new moon April 21. So, in your case, you would be instituting your new healthy-living plan at the perfect time if you start in the first week of May.

When it comes to work projects, as you get very close to May 12-13, on those excellent weekdays, May 10 and 11, you may receive a superb assignment, one that makes you very, very happy to be chosen to do. If you have been out of work, mid-month may bring news that you landed a new job. You may have begun to interview for that job earlier last month, on the new moon April 21 and the days that followed. If you are self-employed, then these days in mid-May may bring you brisk business or an important new client. If you work for others in sales, get ready to land that big commission.

Do you love pets? Here’s some exciting news for you about this wonder-day May 12, operative May 10-13. If you have been thinking of adding a little furry creature to your household, you may find the perfect pet for you, as the sixth house, where Jupiter and the Sun are meeting, is associated with the care and love of small domestic animals. Scientists are only now calculating the direct link that exists between good health and reduced stress to the enjoyment many people derive from having a pet. Apparently the ancient astrologers intuitively knew about this beneficial effect, long ago, as they put health and small domestic animals in the same house of the chart. So if you are were thinking of getting a pet soon, go down to the animal shelter to choose a little kitten or puppy that you feel only has eyes for you. If you have a pet, celebrate your little one and pick up some new toys or treats over May 12-13 to show how much you care.

Why did I make such a strong point of asking you to act during the first two weeks of the month and no later? Here’s why: Venus will be retrograde from May 15 to June 27. Ironically, Venus rules the very house you and I have been discussing, your solar sixth house of health, work, and pets. With Venus about to retrograde, you have a very high contrast situation, where you have truly joyous, bright aspects, followed by ones that are the opposite – flat and far less vibrant. When Venus retrogrades, the house that Venus rules tends to be lackluster. This is why I want you to make your biggest choices early in the month, when Venus is still strong. Fortunately, Jupiter and the Sun will meet just prior to Venus going out of phase – this gorgeous aspect will come in just under the wire!

I want to discuss Venus more in a minute, for this planet rules many areas of your life, but I need to make a point about health first, before we leave that topic.

Now let’s go back to the full moon, May 5, that will also be associated with health, but this time, its focus will be your mental well-being. If anything has troubled you privately, you may now feel a need to talk things over with someone you trust – a best friend, a professional therapist, or a member of your religious community, for example. Full moons bring things to the surface, and it becomes harder to suppress things. Rather than to try to continue to hold things inside (with a powerful full moon like this one, you won’t be able to anyway), you should feel good about sharing your thoughts.

This full moon will link to Pluto in a very supportive way, and Pluto rules the roots that are hidden deep within the ground. Pluto will help you talk about things that may have been too painful to discuss, so that you can study the situation with that other person. By talking openly, you take away the power to taunt you. Mars will be in good angle too, allowing you to take action, and Jupiter, orbiting very close to the full moon, will provide his healing touch. This same full moon would be ideal for distancing yourself from the use of a substance that you know is not good for you. You can overcome these habits, so by all means, reach out for help. Those with more serious challenges will find comfort in rehab.

In your career, this month should find you doing VERY well. Mars is now in your lofty tenth house of career progress and will remain in this house until July 3. Until recently (April 13) Mars has been retrograde most of the year, so you may have felt like you have been walking up a moving escalator that was going down – not getting much progress, despite a lot of effort! Now, all that changes for the better.

Earlier, I discussed how you seem to be in line for a plum project near May 10 or May 11, when Jupiter aligns with the Sun. At the same time, action-oriented Mars is giving you an over-arching trend that will help you raise your status in your industry. The project you get to work on this month may help you to show off your talents, and so in that sense, the project will have “legs.” Mars, working with this trend, will do his job by making it easier for you to see high-level people who can advance you. As you see, the two areas are different, but will work together to boost your “stock” in the workplace. Let your boss know you are ready, willing, and able to take on that new big assignment!

Here is a case in point, when you may be up for a top job – May 16 – and you will make a superb impression! Mars in our solar tenth house of fame will send a direct beam to Pluto in your house of earned income. Both planets are very powerful, so by all means, use this day, May 16 for any career action!

Now let’s go back to the impending apparent reverse orbit of Venus from May 15 to June 27. Venus rules good looks, so first of all I don’t want you to make any dramatic changes to your looks during that phase. No plastic surgery, no changing your hair in a radical way! You want Venus to be happy and bright, not sleepy and lethargic, when you do things like that. Venus retrograde is not the time to shop for diamonds or other jewels either, as Venus rules all things that embellish. Thinking of giving a lavish party? Do so after June 27. Do all these things from May 1 to 13.

Venus retrograde may make you think twice about a certain close relationship, either romantic (most likely) or business in nature. You have Venus moving through your seventh house of marriage, but when any planet retrogrades in this house (especially Venus), it’s a time to reassess your assumptions and the course a close relationship has taken. If a relationship has speeded ahead too quickly, either you or your partner can slow it down just enough to make it more manageable.

Venus is associated with money too, something many readers don’t know, and when Venus retrogrades, Venus will lower the profit potential of any new venture that you sign on to during the retrograde. As you see, it’s not the time to form a business partnership. You can do so from May 1 to 13, and after June 27 but before Mercury retrogrades July 14. You have to be careful to avoid having Venus in the start date of any new venture during that time, as you don’t want this retrograde to affect the life of the venture, until that contract ends.

Now we come to the surprise of the month, the solar eclipse in Gemini, 0 degrees, falling in your solar seventh house of marriage and all other partnerships, including legal ones. This eclipse is sugar and spice, so you may get a proposal – and begin talking about what is to come. I would rather you not become engaged quite yet, nor married either, but it’s fine to discuss things. This eclipse will be so friendly because Jupiter will be within five degrees, spreading its golden vibrations all over your relationship sector.

Still with Venus retrograde, I don’t want you to rush into a marriage or business partnership after mid-month. Take your time – if love is real (or if this business deal is the right one) it will still be there after June 27. Venus is asking you to dig deeper and to clear the air if either of you have been hurt or have a misconception about the other. While you may have a little “work” to do (and I don’t like to call it that, especially in a romantic relationship, for if you love each other, it’s not really work at all but the exchange of information), the outcome can be spectacular. The fact that the solar eclipse is so friendly shows there is good motivation on both sides to make a success of things. This eclipse is a new moon, and these types of eclipses open a door wide, leading you along an exciting new path.

If you are a Sagittarian born on November 21 or within five days of this date, you will notice the sweet effects of this eclipse the most.

Over the past year, you have had a number of eclipses in your sign, Sagittarius, and in Gemini, your opposite sign (ruling your committed partnerships in your chart). Those came by December 21, 2010, and last year: June 1, June 15, November 25, and December 10, 2011. Last year’s eclipses were tough, especially the ones that landed in December. Now, Jupiter will arrive (next month, June 11), and that will make all the difference to you!

It seems you have already scoured the cobwebs from your life (if there were any) through the action of these eclipses. Just as importantly, you likely also found the goodness in a partner, too – eclipses address both sides of the spectrum. All eclipses want us to be productive; eclipses work against the status quo. Ironically, in the US, the Memorial Day holiday will take place May 26-28, coinciding with your best, most romantic time of the month, especially when traveling. Have you been undecided whether to go away or stay home – it seems clear! Go!

Take time this month to address your health, dear Sagittarius, because this month offers all the best of the best that you could ever need: qualified medical and fitness advisors and lots of motivation from you to make your healthy lifestyle plan a success. Venus will retrograde from May 15 to June 27, certainly not the time to make any final decisions about love or those that pertain to your looks. For both, you need Venus to be in fine form, but during this phase, Venus will be weak and ineffectual. In terms of love, if you are attached, you may feel as though your partner isn’t giving you enough attention, and that your relationship has become a little out of step. If either of you are harboring hidden hurts that you or your partner have not discussed before, things will come out in the open now. Air them with confidence – the solar eclipse on May 20 will be your friend. In terms of appearance, there is no worse time to do plastic surgery or change your hair radically than when Venus sleeps in retrograde. It would be too risky to do anything now – wait until after June 27 (the date Venus goes direct) and prior to July 14 (when Mercury goes retrograde) – during that little pocket in time, you will be pleased. I love July 5, when Jupiter, your ruler, orbits close to Venus.

The first solar eclipse of 2012 will arrive in Gemini on May 20 and light your house of marriage and serious legal commitments. Eclipses are known to push things forward rapidly and change timetables dramatically, so you may get a marriage proposal or give one – and before then you will need to start shopping for rings! If you are married, after May 20, your mate will likely have surprising, uplifting news to share. If you would rather use this energy to form a business partnership or hire an agent, you can. What a sensational change in events! When it comes to your career, you must have been feeling like you were walking through glue in recent months. No matter how you tried, it was nearly impossible for you to make progress, as other people whose approvals you needed were either unreachable, indecisive, or confused about whether or not to take the next step with you. You likely had to backtrack a bit to figure out what was holding you back – education, more references, more political support for your projects in the office – you get the idea. It seems you’ve done the necessary studying and tweaking of the situation and you are ready to move forward when Mars bolts forward on April 13.

Mercury has also been retrograde too, and that planet also caused dozens of frustrating delays as well, especially since, for Sagittarius, Mercury RULES your tenth house of fame, the same place sleepy Mars has been lounging around. As you see, you’ve had two little drunk planets messing up your career progress, but soon, this will no longer be a problem. Both planets will be in fine form by April 13, and you will see a noticeable pickup in career opportunities. You are primed for a victory, dear Sagittarius.

I should add that any planet that has been retrograde needs a little time to ramp up. Mars will take until June to get to moving as rapidly as he had been doing in late 2011, but the point is, Mars won’t be pulling you backward any more. It’s rare for Mars to go retrograde, and when he does, it’s like trying to send a rocket to the moon with too little fuel in the tank. In situations like that, it is hard to get anything off the launching pad.

Mercury rules agreements and contracts (even verbal ones), and so if you had pushed things and signed in the past three-and-a-half weeks (since March 12), you would have a contract that will likely need to be renegotiated – something about the promises made will not be fulfilled, or the whole purpose of the relationship will not be realized. Signing with Mars retrograde can also be problematic, if you do so, it won’t have the passionate push behind it. It’s SO important to get all these planets in place. I suggest, for best results, you wait for the new moon, April 21 to sign.

It’s possible that you MIGHT have to wait until mid-September to find your dream career. You will need a new moon in your fame sector if you are looking for a new job, and there’ll be a very special one then. Last month Sagittarius had a spectacular full moon in the career sector, March 8, so you may have seen a development within four days of that date.

Still, the April 21 new moon will bring you interesting assignments, so if you 1) don’t mind taking a job on a level similar to the one you had before, or 2) are self-employed and would like to pick up new business, then this new moon will be magic for you. There is also the possibility that 3) you may take on a temporary project that you like and that bridges you to September, when you can start to get more of the kind of offers that would acknowledge your growing stature in your industry.

I like September regarding your career progress for another reason. When looking for a professional opportunity, we always hope the salary will be commensurate with the responsibilities given. Pluto will retrograde in your salary sector on April 10, so the money offered may become a little bit of an obstacle for the coming five months.

Those close-to-Earth “personal” planets include Mercury, Venus, and Mars, and they have a much more direct, personal effect on you. Big outer planets like Pluto do not have as strong an effect when retrograde as those smaller, closer-to-the-Earth “personal” planets have when retrograde. I still have to weigh this, because as Pluto is the only planet in your house of earned income, Pluto will remain there for literally years, and no other planets is due to stop by for many months – after September.

Big planets take five months or so to turn around to get out of retrograde, so Pluto won’t go direct until Tuesday, September 17. That will be just two days after the powerful new moon in your prestigious tenth house career sector, Saturday, September 15. You see why I am looking at mid-September as a point when your career should take off beautifully, with many offers coming to you in the two weeks that follow that new moon.

For now, let’s keep our attention on the glorious new moon of April 21. That new moon in Taurus, 2 degrees, will be FANTASTIC for your career, so let’s keep focused on this month’s aspects and make them work for you. Mars, found at the tip-top of your chart, in your house of fame and honors, will signal Pluto in your second house of salary and your sixth house, holding the Sun and new moon, forming a golden triangle of extraordinary good fortune and harmony. Mars holds the linchpin here, as it is positioned so high in your chart, it will act like a beacon of light in the depths of night.

Mars is also the natural ruler of your fifth house of creativity, so if you are in a creative field (as the artist or in a supporting staff job aiding the creative effort, from any department, say accounting or marketing), you will have double the luck.

This same new moon coming at the END of April, April 21, will also have a beneficial effect on your health. This is the one-time best point to start a fitness program. Beach weather is almost upon us, so you may want to start getting more fit, or if you ARE already fit, to find ways to ratchet up another notch. You still have Jupiter in this part of your chart, but he will leave on June 11. Having Jupiter in the sixth house (a once-in-12-year trend) is, in my findings, the best place to have Jupiter to lose weight and get fit. You can revamp your eating and exercise habits and start to look so good that friends will want to know what your secret is!

Monday, April 23, will be a dazzler of a day for career interviews OR for medical / dental or other health procedures when the Sun and Mars trade golden beams. It’s a wow of a day for these matters, and for boosting your creative efforts, too. You can use this day too, for health-oriented actions and decisions.

Circle, too, April 27 to April 30 for great days to discuss salary needs with a top person. With Pluto and the Sun so congenial, you are likely to see the day go exceptionally well.

April will have a distinctly social feel too, with some very positive developments, and some, not such good news. On the plus side, you have Venus entering your committed relationship sector on April 3 to stay until August 7, a very long visit for Venus. Once there, Venus will improve the quality of your daily interaction, as that is what she does so well. Venus will make your relationships (of all kinds) smoother, softer, and more caring. In love, Venus will have the power to bring you closer and to help you see the finer qualities in your partner.

Soon Venus will retrograde from May 15 to June 27, a time when you would not want to advance your looks or your relationship. When Venus is retrograde, she withholds her powers, and both areas suffer – affection and appearance. For example: You would not want to choose May 15 to June 27 to have plastic surgery or to change your hairstyle in any radical way. Venus rules beauty, and when sleeping, you can’t access her finest powers, so that would be a very bad time for plastic surgery or to experiment with your hair. You may not like the results.

In love, it’s not considered a good time to get engaged or married, or even to meet anyone new when Venus is out of phase. That’s not going to happen until mid-May through the end of June, but if you are getting married then, you may want to have a secret ceremony at City Hall and technically get married on a good day, say, April 24. You would never celebrate that day, but keep it a secret between you and your partner. You would go ahead and “marry” on any date you chose a long time ago, and always celebrate that day in the future. The City Hall date will become your legal marriage date in the eyes of the city or country in which you wed – and also in terms of astrology, avoiding the Venus retrograde.

Now let’s look at the full moon, April 6, in Libra, 17 degrees. This full moon will bring a culmination to your house of hopes and wishes, and of social events. It puts a big spotlight on a friend or new people you will meet at this time. Money seems to be a major consideration at the time. Let’s say you promised to come to a friend’s destination wedding and the cost of attending has continued to climb, so much so that you are now wondering how you are going to afford to go. You seem to be taking your promises seriously at this time, so it looks like you will go ahead with plans – just try to do so in a financially savvy way.

If your birthday falls on December 8-9 or so, plus or minus five days, you will feel this full moon the most, and benefit most from it.

Just a few days later, Sunday, April 8, Venus and Uranus will send one another sparkling vibrations, bringing feelings of love and fun to the surface over the weekend of April 7-8. This is a really sweet vibration, so if you are single, or even if you are dating seriously, you are likely to feel the ping of Cupid’s arrow from your partner, or if not dating, someone new. Put a star on this weekend, April 7 – 8.

By April 15 we have one of the hardest days of the year, Saturn opposed to the Sun. Again, your social life is highlighted, but I am not sure if it is a romantic partner or friend who takes your full attention, but someone seems to be on your mind. This person may be critical or use harsh words, and it may make you wonder if you want to be in the relationship at all. Fortunately, this opposition of Saturn and the Sun will be in Libra and Aries, signs that blend well with yours, so this indicates you may be able to find a way to smooth things out. It is alternatively possible that a male near you will be suffering (as indicated by the presence of the Sun).

Finally, with such a beautiful new moon in your sixth house on April 21, you might want to consider adding a new little pet to your household. Little domestic animals come under the sixth house, so this will be one of the best times of the year to go down to the animal shelter to choose a new little dog or cat for you. You will have two weeks to decide, but I suggest you go over the most brilliant weekend for doing something as major as this, on April 21-23, your best days. You are due to find a little creature that seems to call out to you, “Take me home!”

Your career is very important to you, and you’ve been working very hard, but in recent months, you may have found it hard to make progress. Although Mars is currently in your solar tenth house of fame, considered a prime spot to make impressive strides, Mars has been retrograde since January 23. You may have felt, when it comes to professional interests, that you have been walking down an “up” escalator – and getting nowhere fast. That will change now that Mars is going direct on April 13. Give Mars some time to get up to speed, as it will take several weeks to get to where he was at the end of 2011. Have you been thinking about getting more fit and healthy? You’ve had a busy few months, and you may have skipped gym visits. and it has become harder to get decisions from higher ups. You may have blamed this loss of momentum on the year-end holidays, but that was not the reason. Mars, now touring your tenth house of career fame, honors, and achievement, went retrograde on January 21 and will remain out of phase until April 13.

Even before Mars shut down for a rest late last month, he began to move ever more slowly during December and January, so you will have to be patient. You may see progress in early March, so don’t let up on efforts. You may have to push yourself more to keep motivated, but you do have a good chance of seeing success. Forward ho! Keep those wagon wheels rolling.

If you need a good day for a career effort, choose February 24-28. On Friday, February 24, you will have Jupiter to help you give a fine presentation or interview for a new position similar to the level of the one you had before. Or, if self-employed, you would be able to generate new business on Friday, February 24. (If you work weekends, then by all means, pitch over February 25, your best day.) For negotiations involving large sums of money, choose February 28 when Pluto will signal the Sun.

Early February might be a good time to take a little vacation. The full moon will light your ninth house of distant travel (Leo, 18 degrees) on February 7, so you may leave earlier in the week and be returning home from an exciting location within five days of the full moon. There is nothing like a long trip to put the bounce back in your step! Alternatively, you may finalize a deal with a foreign company, or you may be taking steps to go back to college for an advanced degree. Other matters may be taken care of now too – you may get a passport or green card, or you may finish jury duty. If you work in the media, you may get your book published or an important segment readied for broadcast. Lots of positive things will be happening within four days of February 7.

Let’s look at your outlook for romance this month, which seem to have had more twists and turns than a best selling spy thriller. First, the eclipses have had an enormous influence on your love life (or, a business partnership). The first test to your partnership came December 21, 2009, the second one on June 15, 2011, and the third on December 10, 2011. If your birthday falls December 10-23, then you felt one of these eclipses; if your birthday falls in November, you may have noticed changes near November 25, but the eclipse that fell on that day was a positive one that brought opportunity, while the others were more emotional dates, because they were full moons. Depending on what happened as a result of all those eclipses, you may be happy or not-so-happy about love, but in any case, things will improve for your love life in time.

As said earlier, Mars is now retrograde, and Mars is the natural ruler of your fifth house of new love. (The fifth house also rules pregnancy and creativity, so in all these areas, there appear to be delays.) With Mars now looking back, not forward, until April 13, you may see your new relationship stall a little, or you may deliberately slow it down if you feel you’ve pushed it forward too fast. If you want to have a baby, the new moon at the end of the month might trump the retrograde Mars because it is so very fertile – a Pisces, Taurus, and Cancer new moon are often the very best for conception.

Sometimes a retrograde planet will bring a change of mind, so with Mars retrograde in your new love sector, you may decide this person is not for you, or conversely IS for you, despite previous doubts. Still, you need to go slowly. I would not want you to move quickly with the ruler of your house of love in retrograde. Mars rules the expression of physical affection, and so this month and next, you might find that your chemistry together is lacking or completely off. It is also possible that your new love has to travel for work, so you may not see one another at all, and that’s fine – actually, that would be a good manifestation of Mars retrograde.

The happy part about February is that Venus will be in Aries, a fire sign that blends divinely with your Sagittarius Sun, from February 8 to March 5. Venus is not an assertive planet, as Venus teaches the wisdom of sitting back and letting others come to you. Here is what is happening that week, and keep in mind there is always an aura around the dates I am giving you, so don’t get stuck on one day. You can add a plus or minus of at least one day. (If you live in Asia, Australia, or other time zone that is 12 hours earlier than the US, then add one day. For example, in Australia, my mention of February 13 becomes February 14.)

February 13: Mercury will combine forces with Neptune, exuding a beautiful aura, just perfect for a week that holds the day for lovers, February 14. (This would not be a day to sign a contract but for love and romance, it’s divine.) On the same day, Saturn will work with Mercury too, so promises in love will be promises kept.

February 16: One of the most wonderful days of the month, when Mercury joins Jupiter, your ruler, in the most optimistic, expansive, happy day to make an agreement or a promise. Give this day three gold stars. Remember, you will feel the growing energy of this day on February 14. You may get an outstandingly generous gift on February 14, 15, or 16. Could it be a diamond?

Now, let’s talk about your home and family situation, which is about to become a huge hub of interest in weeks, months – even possibly years to come!

This month, on February 3, for the first time in your life, Neptune will move into your fourth house of home and is set to stay for fourteen years. Neptune has not been in Pisces since 1847 to 1862. Neptune rules creativity, so you may now become very interested in interior design, art history and furniture design, architecture, home textiles, landscaping, or other elements of home design. It may start with a redo of your apartment or house, and your interest may spread to a desire for an entire career in this area. Or you may be ready for a career switch and have always wanted to delve into this area. If so, Neptune will help give you the inspiration you need to be a success.

For now, you will need to make absolutely sure you have flood and other water damage or gas insurance for your home, whether you own or rent. This is a long trend, fourteen years, and when Neptune shows up, he will want to bring the sea with him into your house. Keep him out. Make sure your windows have secure, tight gaskets around the edge of each window so that the rain can’t ruin your floors. With your aspects, never leave a window open when you go out, and especially when traveling. Change your fire detectors so they’re up to date, with fresh batteries and the newest model, and make sure it has a CO2 detector feature too.

Ask your plumber to check all the pipes in your house to be sure they are in good shape. Once, when I was having my bathroom painted (I love to have my rooms painted frequently), my painter told me one pipe was in bad condition. I immediately invited my superintendent up who said – “You have hours, not days. Call a plumber NOW!” The plumber came later that day, and as he looked at it, it fell apart in his hands by barely touching the pipe. Fortunately, the water was turned off when this happened.

It may not be wise to buy beachfront property in the coming fourteen years. In the future, whenever Neptune will be visited by an angry planet, you could have water-related problems. At the very least, ask neighbors when the last time there was a bad hurricane or other natural disaster that could bring heavy water damage to your neighborhood. Check the safety of the well water, to be sure there are no problems with toxicity. By taking these simple steps, you can keep yourself safe.

Still staying with the topic of home, now let’s look at the month’s beautiful new moon, which just brims with real estate opportunity for you! If you were thinking about moving, you will have one of the best new moons of the year to help you. If you need support from your family, it just might be there if you ask for your favor after the new moon appears.

This home and family-related new moon will appear on February 21 in Pisces, 3 degrees. This new moon is very sweet. It will be in ideal angle to Jupiter, your ruler (which is very significant, for it means this new moon can help you in a bigger way than other signs, because Jupiter is your guardian planet). If you hope to list your house for sale, I would do it beginning February 21. Don’t wait to do so next month, as Mercury will retrograde from March 12 to April 4, not a time to make any important actions. If you act now, keep in mind that Jupiter usually brings money with him wherever he goes – you could make a tidy profit.

Saturn will be very comforting on this new moon February 21 too, which suggests that if you sign a lease or close on a house anytime within a week after this new moon arrives, you are likely to love your decision for many years into the future.

There is one day I just love for you, for home, real estate, or family-related actions, and it is February 25, when the Sun and Jupiter will be in perfect sync. This is a four-star day for signing a lease, closing on a house, assigning contractors, or even for having a party. If you have to make a decision for a parent who needs your assistance, do it on February 25. This works both ways – a parent may be helping YOU. Jupiter is currently visiting your house of work-projects, so if you want to set up a home office this month, I think that’s a great idea. Aim to have it open for business by Saturday, February 25.

There is one more excellent day, when Pluto in Capricorn in your money and wealth house signals the Sun in your house of real estate on Tuesday, February 28. Again, it looks like you’ll have negotiated a good deal, and it would be a perfect day to take action on any sort of home or real estate decision, including the rental of a summer cottage.

Recently your career has picked up speed, and you’ve moved ahead of the rest as one to watch. You will be getting a number of impressive offers, and you may find it to be a bit bewildering to be fussed over. Yet despite your professional popularity, you have yet to find the perfect situation so you may feel in a kind of limbo, not sure which way to go and waiting for the right position to come up.

This will keep up for a while because this condition is related to Mars being retrograde since January 23. The full moon that will occur next month on March 8 may bring talks to a final stage. I can’t even begin to explain accurately the way I feel about Aldous Huxley, but let’s just say that reading Huxley’s work, I feel I am reading thoughts from my own mind. Perhaps I am not so great as him, but he is balance; and I read now that his entire mantra, specifically towards the end of his life, was balance — balance between the inner and the outer worlds. And to most people that makes no sense, but it makes so much sense. And his book, Island, supposedly a counterpart to Brave New World, is about utopia rather than dystopia, and it is a tract, rooted in data, rooted in experience, for how to reach utopian society. I must read this book, and I must read it soon. What am I doing? Who knows. What do I want to do? WRITE BOOKS. MAKE VIDEOS.

For the first time since I’ve moved to Portland, I am leaving to go on vacation for a month, and I don’t want to sublet my room. Certainly I could use the money. Certainly. But I am wary of my space being defiled, for once. What changed? I don’t know, but it seems for once that I want to have my space be my space. Hrm. Most interesting. Had another bizarre dream last night as well. I don’t know what is going on with my subconscious.

You’ve been building momentum, but you may have noticed that lately progress has slowed, and you may have blamed that on the recent year-end holidays. That is not the reason.

Mars is currently slowing down his orbit, and that has affected you. During normal times, it takes Mars about two days to move one degree, but lately, if you study NASA’s table of planetary progress, called an ephemeris, you will see it is taking Mars five days to complete the same journey. That’s VERY slow, and when he proceeds slowly, your career does too. Think of Mars as the high-octane fuel that acts as the booster rocket to all your biggest initiatives. You need Mars to be in strong form to ensure a proper launch to all your plans, and alas, you will have to be patient while Mars rests in retrograde.

Specifically, Mars will go retrograde from January 23 to April 13, and once that happens, he won’t make any progress forward at all. Conditions outside your control will create delays. Mars is the natural ruler of your solar fifth house of creativity, so it appears that you are working on something completely original and creative, possibly an artistic expression. If so, you have such a good chance of success!

Knowing that Mars will slow his orbit more with every passing day means you will have to get as many professional matters signed, sealed, and delivered as you can well in advance of the January 23 retrograde date. I suggest you use the full moon January 9 (plus 5 days) as your absolute deadline because going too close to the retrograde will not serve any positive purpose.

During that waiting phase that will extend from January 23 to April 13, you will have a golden opportunity to go over plans and make needed course corrections. When the US aimed its rockets to the moon, the general public assumed the rocket holding the astronauts simply landed there on cue. In truth, it took all the scientists on the ground a lot of careful monitoring to continually coax the rocket back on course. Had they not done that, reports say that the rocket might have been millions of miles off course and not even close to making a moon landing. Take inspiration in this truth!

All champions make things look easy, but they know you can never push the button, put your feet up and read the newspaper. If you do, the story you will read on the front page is that you missed the mark and are out of business! I doubt that would ever happen to you, though, because these days you appear to be on top of your game and very passionate about the project you are working on. Continue to tweak your strategy and tactics – Mars retrograde will give you the time you need to get things done to perfection. The fact that Mars is in Virgo suggests that details will count and that there may be many complexities to organize so that all the parts run smoothly. You can handle whatever comes up.

Here is a handy tip: In any given month, you will always make the most progress in the days that fall between date of the onset of the new moon to the date of the full moon plus five days. Then, after the full moon has completely waned, you will always enter into a planning and research period, not favorable for launching new efforts, but excellent for perfecting your strategy behind closed doors. At that point you must wait until the next new moon to initiate plans again. (I am not even touching on Mercury retrograde, which you also have to pay attention to, as that would not be the time to act either. As you see, in January, after the full moon wanes on January 13, you will be too close to the start of Mars’ retrograde period January 23 to push any big initiative forward. You CAN act from January 1-12, but from January 13 on, you would do best to delay any important launches to the new moon, April 21. That new moon will be sugar and spice, so you would have the right time to move forward.

Your timing in early January will be excellent if you can move that fast. The new moon of December 24 lit your second house of earned income, so if you have not yet asked for a raise, you must do so immediately. I say that because with each passing day, the power of that new moon will be diminished a little more. Imagine a souffle that continues to sink after you take it out of the oven – that’s the power of a new moon lessening with each passing day.

That December 24 new moon appeared in your salary sector and received rare support from good fortune planet Jupiter, now touring your area of work projects (sixth house). This almost never happens! Jupiter always brings outstanding financial benefits to all that he touches, a good sign your timing would be ideal to get a rise approved or, if you are self-employed, to bring in new lucrative clients and assignments.

Planets were playing a few games with us last month, for at the same time Uranus was in hard angle to that December 24 new moon, which is not good news. This suggests one of two possible outcomes. You may have (or will) be able to generate more income but will see money go out just as fast as it comes in because a creative project will need more time, energy, and money to keep it going.

If that was not the case, it alternatively could have been that you generated more income, but last month’s socializing and gift giving cost you more than you would have anticipated. Or, your child (no matter what his or her age) may have needed you to write some hefty checks for just about any reason.

I want to draw your attention to the full moon of January 9 (Cancer 18 degrees). This full moon will be positive from head to toe and likely bring you all the good news you have been longing to hear about money! This lovely lady in white – the moon – will signal Mars, currently in your tenth house of fame and professional achievement.

Clearly, this full moon will show you that the work you’ve been turning out has put you in line for a generous compensation, possibly through a royalty or commission fee. This full moon will light your eighth house of venture capital, bonuses, bank loans, mortgage and refinancing plans, court settlements, divorce agreements, and other such types of funding, so these will be your most lucrative areas of gain.

Near January 9, you will see a final conclusion to financial matters, and the news should please you. Jupiter will also be friendly to Mercury, a wonderful aspect on so many levels! I love how neatly this full moon will tie your performance and compensation together in such a straightforward, positive way!

Next, put a big red circle around January 12 too, the day when Mars, still in strong shape, will tie the Sun in your house of personal finances to your reputation and standing in the industry. Wow, January is certainly reward time, dear Sagittarius. Soon you’ll be singing, “Money, Money, Money!”

The only truly tough day for your finances might arrive on January 19, a sad kind of day, when Saturn will be in hard angle to the Sun. You may feel tired or overly criticized by someone in authority. Don’t let this day crush your confidence. These days you are on a roll, and almost nothing can stop you now! Do not loan money to a friend on this day or close to it, not unless you don’t care if you ever see that money again! Just a note to the wise!

Your home may get some loving attention from you this month too, now that Venus will tour your home sector from January 14 until February 7. Next month will bring a far bigger and better time for solving and advancing home-related matters, but for now, you can add some stylish touches to your decor. Venus beautifies all that she touches, so add flowers or accessories, or give a room a new coat of paint – Venus will see that you love your choices.

If you would like to give a party at home, you might want to consider my favorite date for that, January 14, when Venus and Jupiter, your ruler, dine together on your behalf. Give your party at home, not at a club, to make best use of these lovely, shimmering vibrations.

By month’s end, you have another new moon, on January 23 (Aquarius, 3 degrees) to light your third house of communication, a trend that will last for two weeks. At this time, you may start work on your website or blog, or call your publicist to start work on an upcoming campaign. Alternatively, you may simply want to think about how to redo your Facebook page to make it more compelling.

You might design a direct mail advertising campaign to send out later if you are a small business, or huddle with your ad agency about a future ad campaign if you are a bigger company. Remember, Mars will go retrograde from this date, January 23. You should not make any competitive moves until after April 13, the date Mars will finally turn around. For best results, await the new moon in your projects sector, April 21.

Some exciting travel may also come up suddenly and spontaneously at this new moon, January 23. If so, it would be a trip that you thoroughly enjoy, even though it would take you only a short distance from home. The best part about this new moon is that it will receive a beam from Uranus, the planet of surprise. If you think you have no reason to travel this month, that may change, and nothing puts a smile on your face faster than an unexpected trip, dear Sagittarius!

If your birthday falls on November 24 plus five days or minus two, you will see the most benefits from this new moon.

This month your best period for romantic razzle-dazzle will be from January 1 to 13, when Venus will be in Aquarius, an air sign that has the power to bring oxygen to your fire sign element, causing you to burn even more brightly! Love and travel will go hand in hand, so if you do get a raise this month, maybe you will feel you can afford a romantic stay at a charming bed and breakfast with your sweetheart or spouse and enjoy some quality time alone. i have been feeling a bit strange lately.
some things had happened which made me feel really sad.
the new redefine site was launched and i didn’t quite get the reaction i was hoping to get, from those closest to me.

i mean, i still haven’t really heard anything, from anyone, in any positive way.
it is mostly more secondary sources — friends of friends, i guess…
or not that great of friends…
that seem more receptive.
it’s really rather hurtful.

today i had a rather large crisis of conscience, as i do sometimes.
i mean, i feel like 99 out of 100 days i get up and do what i am doing, with the mag.
and feel good about what i am doing.
sometimes, though, it just gets a bit much…
the whole… not getting paid for things you spend an exorbitant amount of time on…
the whole… no real feedback loop between creator and visitor…

i dunno. it’s really just exhausting.

i went on a walk with aaron today.
nurses just got back from europe.
i dunno. it’s cool to be able to talk to him about these things…
cause even though he doesn’t have the same experience since he is in a band and doesn’t run a mag…
he understands where i am coming from –
and definitely has the whole creative/money struggle, too.
and it’s just nice to talk to someone who understands in a parallel way
and can offer me solutions that might make sense for what it is.
i just feel like i talk to so many people about it
and they just have no idea what i am talking about
or they give me colloquialisms.

friendships are weird, you know.
there are just relationships that make sense and those that don’t,
those that you can try to make work yet still fail,
those that don’t seem like they would work on paper but do.

i dunno.
often times i do get butt hurt because relationship dynamics — friendships or otherwise — are not always the way i would like them to be.
i always end up holding people to this weird ass standard that i try to embody myself and most of the time do though i am sure my view is flawless as it is me analyzing myself.
nonetheless.

usually i am really responsive for things, always text message back in timely manners and end up answering whatever just because i don’t like to leave people hanging.
i don’t feel like people necessarily do this in return.
today i consciously did it to t-money because i was sad and didn’t have anything to say in response.
i just left it.
and considering circumstances of yesterday, and conversations we had yesterday, that made him feel bad.
which in turn made me feel bad for doing something purposely out of spite.
i dunno, i just can’t do that shit.
i always feel bad.
i even feel bad when telling people straight that they bummed me out for this or that reason…
when really i shouldn’t… it’s fucking ridiculous.
i shouldn’t feel bad for making someone feel bad because they did something wrong that made me feel bad.
but i do.
it’s so weird.

today i got up and was just so so so so bummed. just so bummedddddddddddddd.
and this day has just been that endlessly.
got a little bit better after walking and talking with aaron but still.
it just feels so pointless sometimes.
as always, it will pass.
i do think what i’m doing is a good thing, ultimately.
even if it feels like i am forever giving too much of a shit when most of the world does not give a shit.

If you are a November-born Sagittarius, the solar eclipse that came by on November 25 was to touch you more directly than this month’s eclipse. In fact, in your case, this month’s eclipse may be too far from your Sun to have anything but a very mild effect. (I can’t see everything in your chart, and I don’t know if you have any planets in Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, or Virgo at 18 degrees, the degree of this eclipse. If you do, you would feel this one too.)

Making a decision may be a bit hard initially because as you enter the month, Mercury will still be retrograde until December 13. Mercury is the planet of communication – think of Mercury as the planet with a very high IQ and superb speaking and reasoning skills – and he imparts his gifts to us. However, when he is retrograde, he withholds all his powers, and we mere mortals below are left to stumble around to cope as best we can until he awakens again. Things can, and often do, go haywire. We sign contracts and fail to notice the one clause that is capable of putting us in danger if we don’t change the wording. Some months are colored in shades of soft pastels, but this is not one of them. October is due to be a high contrast month, where emotions will be heightened, and where those around you will be suddenly moved to reveal their true feelings. This may make you excited and happy or horrified at what you learn – there seems to be no middle course.

Saturn, so prominent in October, will be re-setting and re-booting relationships and situations for just about everyone, and in the process, truths will be forced out into the open. In the end, by the time October is over, you will have a more realistic view of your life, your goals, and what you need most from a close relationship. You will be able to move forward, even if you have felt stuck, and that’s always something to celebrate, in anyone’s book.

You have been going through many personal life changes since the eclipses started to come by in the Sagittarius-Gemini series in late 2010. So far we’ve had three eclipses in this family: on December 21, 2010, and this year on June 1 and June 15. The first and the last were the more powerful and possibly troubling; those may have required quick adjustments. You are a mutable sign, so you are highly flexible. That’s an asset, and the talent you have for adaptation will set you apart. More changes will come next month, when the next in the series arrives November 25, and this will be a very friendly solar eclipse in Sagittarius that might provide you with a breakthrough. Sagittarians born within five days of November 25 will be among those who are most likely to benefit from that new moon of September 27.

This month you will also have intense planetary energy that will focus on your love and friendships. You may have a friend who is facing a difficult situation, and your help to get her through this phase will be needed and appreciated.

Any situation that arose in late September, or that will in early October, in regard to that friend will likely take a long time to sort out, as it is not a trivial one. If you do commit to help her (it appears to be a woman, as the moon is involved), plan to be there in the long term. If you can't help as directly as you would like, be sure you do not minimize or dismiss her plight – this problem seems serious, Listen with a caring, sensitive ear, and if you don't know what to say, continue to listen by asking questions.

Saying "everything will be fine" to your friend would be under-estimate her plight, and be insulting to her – nothing will be fine until she makes it fine, and she knows it. When she opens up to you, she hopes you will sympathize with her plight – that understanding can be the greatest gift you can give her. (I say "her" as it appears that your friend is female.)

It's alternatively possible that the way these aspects may work in your chart is that a friend may reveal hidden motives now that will trouble you and give you pause. You may see this friend has betrayed you. In this case, you may see that this person has not been the friend you had assumed her to be, and you'd have to break the friendship. Thankfully, this application seems less likely.

At the full moon on October 11, in Aries at 18 degrees, your attention will turn to your love life, for it will very likely reach a key phase. You may see a major development with the person you care about whom you have been dating. This moon will oppose Saturn, so some sort of news seems to cause you to pay close attention and to think deeply. If the news is not good, you may feel anxious or depressed. As you see, there are two very opposite ways this full moon may affect you. If your relationship is reaching the point where you may soon marry, it may be a time of celebration, and to announce an engagement, perhaps soon, in time for your birthday. That would explain why Saturn is exerting such strong energy, for you would be taking the future seriously, in the best sense.

However, conversely, in a very different scenario, if your partner is not serious about having a future with you, and you realize he or she never will, you may be understandably upset or sad. Full moons have a way of bringing true feelings out into the open and resetting our expectations. Alas, in a month where Saturn will be so prominent, it’s best to be realistic about romantic relationship than to hold on to a beautiful fantasy of love that might have been but can’t be realized. This full moon will oppose Saturn, and hence, it will be a time to see things very clearly.

Oddly, financial considerations may enter the talks you have with a lover or friend now. For example, if you have been living together and are thinking of breaking up, you may have to find a long-term housing solution before you can move. If you loaned money to a friend, but have not been paid back, you will feel a need to discuss that debt now. There are other reasons money may become a focus – you will see how (or if) it applies in your life.

The fifth house, where this full moon will occur, also rules pregnancy and all matters related to children. I will try to give you some examples to get you thinking how this might apply to you. If you are going through a divorce, you may settle a child custody question and agree on the child support to be sent near October 11. Or, in another example, a surprise pregnancy may come up, and you would discuss what should happen next. In this second example, Saturn’s presence does not mean you would not have the baby, but does show that you are taking parenthood seriously and would think through your plans in detail.

As you see, romantic developments may be very exciting or not so much at the full moon. The way things will go for you will depend on what has been happening in your relationship in past months.

I will say this: This full moon will be beautifully oriented toward Mars, which is a very hopeful sign things can go well. Mars rules your fifth house of true love and is now in fellow fire sign Leo, touring your house of stimulating foreign, distant travel. It’s clear that to travel will be the best way to fan the fires of existing love or to find new love.

If your birthday falls on December 10, you will be in a position to see the most benefit from this full moon, so stay optimistic.

Two days after the full moon occurs, the Sun and Saturn will conjoin on October 13, and all that I have discussed above will become more obvious and perhaps require a course of action. It’s a time to look at the facts and make adjustments in an objective kind of way. If news has not been good, this is never easy, I know.

When it comes to your career, Mercury, the ruler of your tenth house of fame and achievement, is now in Libra and will conjoin Saturn on October 6. A career matter will reach a critical juncture on or near this day, and depending on what comes up may require strategic thinking. A friend may have brought you the career opportunity, and indeed, this position may allow you a chance to shine. Go slowly to be sure you agree to all the terms of the position before you sign or shake hands. Anything you agree to on October 6 would be in place a long time, possibly many years, but depending on the situation – that could be good!

I just spoke about the full moon in Aries on October 11 and its likelihood of bringing a romantic / personal situation to fullness. Alternatively, it may work to crystallize an important creative project in your career. I will explain.

An entrepreneurial project may be reaching an important phase, and if so, it appears you will be working hard to put the final touches on things to present October 11, plus four days. If someone is critical of the project (possible), try to find the nugget of truth in that person’s review or opinion, and then decide if you want to make corrections. Don’t ever assume your overall plan is not worthy of praise. It is! Those born December 10 plus or minus four days will feel things most directly and will benefit most.

It may help to know that when it comes to professional interests, your prospects are sensational. You are about to enter into one of the most exciting phases possible in November. This will be a delicious month, dear Sagittarius, and one of your favorites of all of 2011. You’ve been working hard, and finally you have come to the point when your talents will be recognized and you can attempt to reach for the brass ring. A much better position, one with all the responsibility and power that you always wanted, is now within reach, and to that end, Mars will help you.

There will be many shifts going on in the heavens in November, but the one that will affect you the most will be the new moon solar eclipse in Sagittarius, 3 degrees, on November 25. That friendly eclipse that will allow you to drive your life in precisely the direction you choose. Are you excited yet? Wow, dear Sagittarius, what a month!

Let’s start with the solar eclipse first, due to arrive November 25, which in the United States will fall on the day after Thanksgiving. This one will be the most encouraging eclipse this year, so you should like the developments that come up. Surprise developments will lift your spirits and put a wonderful bounce in your step. Your confidence and optimism will return with full force, and you’ll be excited about the new opportunities that will be sprout up like poppies. Solar eclipses open new doors and present a completely new picture of yourself and your life. You may change your own estimation of your talents and qualifications, and value them so much more. Good! Way to go, dear Sagittarius.

If you hear the word “eclipse” and immediately begin to become anxious, it may be because the other eclipses in the Gemini-Sagittarius series were challenging. Think back to the lunar eclipse in Gemini of December 21, which arrived in the degree of completion and endings, 29 degrees.

Then consider the eclipses that followed in the same family of signs this year, including the solar eclipse of June 1 in Gemini 10 degrees (friendly) and the lunar eclipse of June 15 in Sagittarius 23 degrees. (That one was not so friendly). Those eclipses, working together, helped to create changes and in some ways, to clear the decks to open a new path for the future. Alternatively, one or more of these eclipses pointed out weaknesses for you to fix. Those weaknesses might be in regard to your health, or way of thinking, such as with a wrong assumption. Once you saw the weakness, you could move to strengthen those spots.

Now this solar eclipse will come by to provide excitement and new elements of positive change. You may also change your appearance now in a stunning way, as gradual changes within your personality and outlook may finally bubble up to the surface. It is logical that when we see ourselves differently, it would later translate into a new way of arranging our appearance or style of dress. Spirit drives manner, attitude, and eventually, looks. You are now standing on the cusp of a whole new cycle, and you can choose the direction you would like it to take. The closer your birthday falls to November 25, the more eclipse this month will affect you.

At the time of the eclipse, the Sun, new moon eclipse, Venus, and Mercury will all be in Sagittarius, and such a buildup of energy in your sign will give you enviable control. This also suggests that you won’t have to compromise to get things the way you want. Indeed, it looks as though the pieces of your puzzle will fall almost effortlessly into place.

There are other reasons this eclipse will be so very important for you, but I need to build the whole story for you, so you can see what I do. If you would, stay with me. Mars is about to leave Leo, a sign and place it has toured since mid-September. Since that time, you may have had a chance to travel overseas or a far distance within your own country. If not, you will still have a chance to do so, or to travel prior to the day Mars leaves Leo on November 10.

Actually, one project seems to be reaching finality earlier, on the full moon November 10, plus or minus four days. This full moon will make no direct aspects to other planets, which is unusual, but it will occur in the same house that Jupiter happens to be based, your sixth house. Something about this project will please you and could easily make you proud. Keep your health up to par, as you will be using a lot of energy to finish up this project at this time.

Financially, once Venus enters your second house of earned income, November 26 to December 20, you should have no trouble nailing a good salary, but remember, you’ll do best after December 13. I do not see any unusual expenses coming up either – you seem to be sitting pretty!

There is one little tricky problem with November, in that Mercury will go retrograde from November 24 to December 13 and that will bring delays, but only temporarily. Mercury is the natural ruler of your house of professional achievement. This time Mercury will be in Sagittarius, so you will likely notice this retrograde more than most. Don’t let this get you disappointed. It’s only a three-week retrograde, and by going slowly, you will benefit. Sometimes it really is not wise to push forward rapidly. As juicy as your new career opportunities may be, take your time, and don’t give your final word until next month, AFTER December 13. If you can, give this date some space, as you shouldn’t butt up too close to the start or end dates of a retrograde.

Of course, if you get an offer earlier in the month, you can accept, say, by November 15, but be wary about giving your word any later.

Communication, transportation, agreements, negotiation, and the buying and selling of goods and services are all ruled by Mercury, so when retrograde, things tend to go haywire. If you ship a package, as undoubtedly you will for the holidays, be sure you have the correct address and ZIP code on the label – errors will bring the usual delays of Mercury out of phase. Sometimes people move and forget to tell their friends!

When you see that Mercury is going retrograde, which happens whenever Mercury gets to beyond 27.5 degrees away from the mighty Sun, the Sun yanks Mercury back. He does not want to travel without his agent! After all, Mercury has been called the Messenger of the Gods, for he is known to rule eloquent speech and bring a masterful talent for negotiation. Mercury is also known to be exceptionally clever. The problem is, when Mercury retrogrades, he sleeps, and all the areas of life he rules tend to go into disarray.

Buying holiday gifts could be problematic if you plan to buy some big, expensive gifts for people you love. You should be fine buying smaller gifts under $200, and if you promise to save all the gift receipts in one big envelope that you keep handy should one recipient want to make an exchange.

Notwithstanding what I just said, you should not buy any electronic gifts during the retrograde from November 24 to December 13. Mercury rules the moving parts of machines, electricity, and electronic devices, so it’s always a bad idea to buy electronics or to install complex software during Mercury retrograde. You can buy your electronic gifts in early November, or you can do so at the last minute, from December 14 onward.

Or, you can buy gift cards, which is another good idea, but be sure to photocopy the cards you buy so that you have the serial numbers if your recipient, or the courier, loses the card.

Now let’s turn to the topic of your home, which may be feeling a little cramped now, so you may be thinking about looking at a larger apartment or house, or considering a re-organizational of your present space. Neptune’s impending turn to direct speed on November 9 will be a big help in the coming seven months. You’ll get your chance to act in late February at a glorious new moon – you will need to be ready, so you might want to start reviewing your options soon.

Romantically, you seem to have a big advantage, as Venus will linger in Sagittarius from November 2 to 25. I am simply blown away by how many wonderful aspects you have going for you.

What an amazing month! Every once in a while, everything you could ever want to happen, happens, in just the right way, in just about every area of your life. Problems you assumed wouldn’t be fixed for months or years, or wishes you thought would never come true, suddenly will be delivered now – poof, in the blink of an eye! This month may well seem like a dream. Things will start happening the moment the month takes off.

A solar eclipse in practical, prudent Capricorn will occur on January 4 and help you find new sources of income. You’ve been feeling the effects of the eclipses in Capricorn and Cancer since July 2009, and the changes they wrought have not always been easy. You might have seen a source of income dry up at some point, but if so (or even if you didn’t lose anything), this eclipse will work to help you see more money. Eclipses come by every five-and-a-half months in pairs; you saw one last month on December 21 in your opposite sign of Gemini, ruling partnerships, your marriage, or a collaboration. This one this month, on January 4, will be far friendlier and will emphasize money you earn, spend, save, and manage.

With Pluto (power), Mars (action), the Sun, and new moon solar eclipse in your second house of earned income, you may see a new source of income appear quite suddenly. Or, you may decide to make a very big and important purchase. No matter what you have planned, you have the element of luck and surprise working for you, so you should entertain any and all opportunities that you hear about now. This will be one of your most important moments of all of 2011 to substantially increase your income, and I doubt you will expect to see the offer coming before it shows up. Lunar eclipses are always full moons, and they bring endings or culminations. Because lunar eclipses put the moon in center stage, they bring up memories and dreams, so they are more emotional than solar eclipses. We had a lunar eclipse last month in the sign opposite yours, Gemini, so you may have felt a bit overwrought last month, especially if your birthday falls on or close to December 21. Not only was a partnership or spouse the subject, but your health might have been discussed, too.

Solar eclipses, like the one we will have now on January 4, are very powerful new moons, and they often bring unexpected good news, for they open new paths from unusual or outside sources. They are very exciting, although I will admit that sometimes – but not always – they will ask you to give up something so that you can gain something else that is better and more relevant to you. Under those conditions, you need to have blind faith that you can and will replace what was sacrificed or lost, for the new doesn’t always dovetail with the old at the same time.

I suspect you already gave up a source of income or had a big expense near the June 26, 2010 lunar eclipse in the same sign of Capricorn. This month’s eclipse is friendly, so I think you’ll love the news you get. This is when you will see that the universe would never forget you, for the universe loves you. Someone once said to me, “God doesn’t just make a tree and forget to water it. He will not let you go through a drought.” I never forgot his words. It’s true. You will have to do your part to look for opportunities, for you will be rewarded if you do. You have everything working for you.

Since last month, you’ve been thinking more about money because Mars entered this same house, creating high expenses. Perhaps you were very generous with gifts, and now the credit card bills are starting to show up. Or, there is alternatively a very strong possibility you are considering a purchase of property or making a residential move, for something you are doing that is home and family-related seems to be expensive but necessary and special.

No matter what the specifics happen to be, you’ll be happy the solar eclipse will be arriving so quickly, on January 4, and will instantly put things in motion. Have your cell phone powered up, and keep checking your email. Hopefully you will not be away on a business trip or vacation, for you will need to quickly attend to all that comes up. Mars will be very close to the degree of this eclipse, which tells me that you won’t have to wait long to start to see things happen – news will come fast.

Something else will occur in the heavens on the very same day, January 4. Remarkably, Jupiter, your ruler and planet of gifts and luck, will team up with Uranus, planet of surprise, in your solar fourth house of home and family. Many Sagittarians have had to move residences more than once over the past seven years. Alternatively, if you have not had to move, perhaps you’ve had unusual circumstances surrounding your home situation, and you have longed for stability. Now, an opportunity will arise out of thin air that you may just want to take advantage of quickly. The fact that Jupiter is the planet that governs Sagittarius gives it more power and clout in this situation for you.

On or very close to January 4 (specifically, in the days that directly follow this date) some sort of good news about home, family, or other property will thrill you. You may get to bid on a new house or sell a house, and be amazed at how well things go – all the pieces of your puzzle will fall into place. Or, your mother or father may send you a big check. There are many possible examples. You may find the perfect apartment or vacation home to rent. You may find a piece of furniture so perfect for your space, and at such a great price, that you may be amazed that you discovered it by accident. If you have been searching for a tenant for your three-family house or a new roommate for your apartment, the right person may now show up through a series of simple coincidences. A family member may give you a valuable piece of art for your home or you may be able to finally get that new stove for your kitchen. Something special seems imminent and it will make you so very happy!

Jupiter is getting ready to move into Aries later this month, and will not be back to your home-and-family part of your chart for another 12 years. Jupiter has spent a year in this home area of your chart, since January 17, 2010, but during some of that time, Jupiter was retrograde and not strong in the way he is now. His companion, Uranus, planet of unexpected developments, will be moving on to another sign as well, in March, having spent a staggering seven years in this same home area of your chart. Uranus is responsible for a lot of the radical ups and downs you faced. Because Uranus takes 84 years to circle the Sun, he will not be back in this part of your chart again in your lifetime and you will not be sorry to see him go – hosting Uranus in your home sector can be very stressful. Before these two planets spin off and go their separate ways, they will create an extraordinary amount of light and magic on January 4, and could offer you one last chance to make your home the way you had hoped it to be. If you get an offer that interests you, take it.

In case you needed more evidence that what is going on this month is out of this world, Venus will send her greetings to both Jupiter and Uranus as well on January 4, so there will be a whole party in the sky on that day. Rarely have I seen anything like this. Saturn will be cranky (there is always one planet that is likely to act up), but because he is tucked away in your eleventh house of hopes and wishes, you may have to compromise on one area – the compromise seems to center on money but could be something else. Overall you have staggering good prospects for both increasing your income and seeing a surprise development that offers you a solution in regard to a home and family matter.

More financial matters will come up – and be settled – at the full moon, January 19. Again, the planets will be in a sweet, jovial mood, and whatever you learn makes you ecstatic. The house that will be lit up will be the sector of other people’s money, ruling such things as bank loans and lines of credit, venture capital, mortgage and refinancing plans, insurance payouts, divorce settlements, and other financial court decisions. Those are a few examples, but you get the idea – this is the house that rules money that is not salary, but all funds that tend to come in lump sums and are outside of normal income. With the Sun in perfect angle to Jupiter, the planet that always wants to give you more, you are about to be amazed at how well and generously things go.

Mars will leave your financial sector on January 15 and move into your third house of travel and communication. You may be asked to sign papers once that happens, but actually I would prefer a signing on January 13, two days prior, when Mars will reach out to lucky Jupiter. At that time, Mars will protect your interests.

If you don’t sign on January 13, the alternative date I will give you is at the full moon, January 19, also special. You need to wrap up financial talks before Saturn goes retrograde on January 26, for Saturn is the natural ruler of your financial (second) solar house of earned income. A retrograde planet is a weak one that cannot help you, and that’s why it is so vital that you remain decisive and ready to take action this month. I suggest you not get too close to January 26, but wrap things up by January 19, or 21 at the very latest.

The extraordinary fact about January is that every planet in our solar system will be moving direct from January 1 to 25, a situation that almost never happens. It’s been years since I have found all planets going direct, and when it can be found, it is often for one or two days, never more than three weeks. We have a very productive month coming up, and so you won’t see things languish like you did in December. Mercury was retrograde almost the whole month, and it made many of us tear our hair out, but this month will be bright and cheery, with opportunity dropping out of the sky for you.

When Mars moves into Aquarius on January 15, to stay until February 22, you may get a chance to travel short distances, and that will be the perfect antidote to too much calculator pounding or cabin fever you may have.
